BHSML has adopted modified Rule E-3
When a player's ball lies in the FAIRWAY, the player may take relief once by placing the original ball (or a replacement) in the RELIEF AREA.
When a player's ball lies in the FAIRWAY, the player may take relief once by placing the original ball (or a replacement) in the RELIEF AREA.
- Reference Point: From the original location of the ball, locate the closest point of undamaged FAIRWAY turf. (Note: this location may be the same as the point where the ball came to rest.)
- Size of Relief Area: One (1) club length, measured from the Reference Point
- Relief Area must be no closer to the whole, and in the fairway.
- Ball may be lifted, cleaned, and then placed in the Relief Area.
- Once the ball is placed, no further movement of the ball is permitted without incurring a general (2 stroke) penalty.
